An Englishman now living in Helsinki, Simon London is without doubt one of the finest DJ's in Finland today, using all styles in his performance to deliver the most to his audience. From funky house, progressive house right through to techno this man does it all. This is definitely one DJ that will never be classified as boring. Sometimes adding a sampler, Roland 505, effects unit and production partner Jarkko on a synthesizer to create a special combined live / DJ set, that always adds a real twist to the music! A complete crowd-pleaser, as soon as you hear that tight bassline pumpin' you'll bet its Simon behind the decks. Bitten by the house bug back in 1989, Simon started DJing in the summer of 1991, starting in those early days to play at numerous illegal raves and parties that were taking place mostly in and around London at that time. Before moving in to the club circuit during 94/95 playing at such legendary London clubs as Club UK, Bagleys and The Gardening Club. While in daytime working at Bluebird Records, which led to mountain of records as well as his debut record productions. In late 1997 Simon moved to Helsinki and has been closely involved with the club scene ever since, playing at all the major clubs, events and festivals across Finland. Not content with just DJing at events, he's been organised numerous club nights: House Basics, G-spot, Perwert Nights, and currently 404, which runs monthly in Helsinki. Other events in Finland, which have been notable, include both Gatecrasher tour parties, The End Club Tour, and Platipus records parties, playing alongside such DJ's as Scott Bond, Mr C, Rob Tissera, Kevin Saunderson, and Armin Van Buuren to name just a few! Outside of Finland he's been wowing crowds across Europe including clubs in Sweden, Portugal, Estonia and Bulgaria. In fact a recent trip to Estonia turned into one of his most memorable gigs ever. In Tartu, Estonia's "freedom street rave" he played the penultimate set before Da Hool to a crowd of 25,000 revellers! His involvement in the Finnish scene goes deeper than just DJing; he manages several live acts, DJ's and producers through his company Climax Management. It was with one of these acts "Perwert" that he set up "Class A" studios in early 2000, Perwert to those who don't know are Finland's leading live / electronic band. Remixing their first single "Just For You" to great success, championed by such DJ's as Armin Von Buuren, Mr Spring and Gatecrasher resident Scott Bond. Recently on the production side of things, he teamed up with Jarkko Pietil�inen (Perwert / Beats Inc. and Beat Pusher) to produce "You're not Rock'n'Roll" which was signed to Fraction recordings. And the new Perwert single "Symphonic" which he co-produced is already causing a stir on dance-floors everywhere and is receiving massive label interest from the UK. Even before the tracks release, the original mix had been personally signed to the new Gatecrasher album by Scott Bond and the Seek Help! Mix signed to the forthcoming Screen club collection. When track was reviewed in Platinum magazine it received a full 5/5. A DJ not scared to push the music and scene to the maximum and with tracks like "Symphonic" coming from Perwert and his latest production alias "Seek Help!" and he's set to rock dance-floors worldwide. |
