Interest in music has probably always been there, but Tomi started DJ'ing in the local youth house when he was only 13 (-87). His style then wasn't really understood among other teenagers, Europe and Bon Jovi were rockin' the parties back then. He kept on playing and listening to rap, electronica and other black music. Tomi's first club appearance was in the legendary "Lepakko" in 1990. Tomi started to promote his own night's and parties in -92 and held parties in Ky-exit, which was "the place to be" back then. When the trance wave came in 96 there weren't really any proper house events in Finland anymore. So, events like that had to be made. One off's were held in various places and the first summer club called "The Beat" was held in Adlon in 96.

Tomi founded "Ihana" in 97 with two of his best friends. Ihana was first a weekly Saturday clubnight, held only in summer time and a couple of bigger one off's per year. Ihana grew bigger and bigger and got lots of follower's. It was and still is known as a groovy, good atmosphere club with two dance floor's, one for House and the other for Disco and Funk. The club has been voted 3 times as the best summer club in Finland in the local newspapers. And now (2001) It is concerned as the quality guaranteed nite, where ever Ihana is held. No doubt, its the leader club of the soulful house scene in Finland. In 98 the 'Ihana' gang opened a new night called 'Star' in Hype club (the place where Screen -club was born), which is the oldest House/Trance/Techno club in Finland.

In 99 Ihana posse was invited to promote Fridays in Kerma (www.clubkerma.com),co-owned by Lil' Tony from Nu Spirit Helsinki (Guidance), under the name of Viima, with Tomi K of course as a resident dj. Today 'Ihana production Helsinki' (ihana.housecollective.org) is one of the biggest scene builders in Finland putting together parties, events and bringing international guests to deejay. Promoting gave him an opportunity to invite and deejay with DJ's and producers he respects and interests him from abroad. He has brought djs such as Grant Nelson, Joey Musaphia, Chris Simmonds, DJ Spen, Trouble men, Spencer Broughton, Neil Fearnley, Marcus Enochson (Soundmen on Wax), Marcia Carr, Jori Hulkkonen (who is deejaying Viima every first Friday of the month), Kevin McKay (Glasgow Underground, owner), The Sunkids / Deepswing, Linden C, Jonene (Panhandle, co-owner) Chrissy T (Garage City resident), Bert Bevans (Original Studio 54 Resident), Soul Providers, Pound Boys, Laurent Garnier just to name a few...

Tomi K has been noticed in the media as well. Various interviews in TV, radio and newspapers / magazines, Gigs been broadcasted in different radio stations and he's arranged music for example for Diesel & Salomon clothes.

"To be honest, we never expected the Ihana thing to be as big it is at the moment, 'cause we started out in having parties just for us and our friends. But of course I'm very happy that people have found us and give respect to us for doing what we do."
